- 6 medium apples, peeled, cored and sliced
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup (1 stick) cold unsalted butter, cut into cubes
- 1Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
- 2In a large bowl, toss apple slices with lemon juice, granulated sugar, and cinnamon.
- 3Transfer apple mixture to a greased 8x8 inch baking dish.
- 4In a separate bowl, combine flour, oats, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt.
- 5Cut in cold butter using a pastry blender or your fingers until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
