  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup non-dairy milk (almond, soy, or oat)
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup vegan chocolate chips (optional)
  1. 1Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour an 8x8 inch baking pan.
  2. 2In a large bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. 3In a separate bowl, whisk together granulated sugar, brown sugar, vegetable oil, non-dairy milk, and vanilla extract.
  4. 4Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
  5. 5Fold in vegan chocolate chips, if using.
  6. 6Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly.
  7. 7Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs attached.
  8. 8Let the brownies cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares.
